Well and Deep Conduit Inspection by Camera: The Advantages

Borehole Camera elected best of the year

Our borehole cameras are essential tools for visual examination of wells, deep boreholes, vertical conduits, or underground structures.

They are designed to operate in harsh environments and under deep immersion.

They provide clear and detailed vision of internal walls, allowing you to quickly identify defects such as cracks, mineral deposits, or any structural failure.

Thanks to our inspection systems, you can assess the condition of installations and optimize maintenance interventions.

Maximum available well inspection depths:

  • 100m
  • 200m
  • 300m
  • 400m
  • 500m

How to Choose Your Inspection Camera Based on Borehole Type?

High-Pressure Cameras for Deep Boreholes

Our design quality allows for deep inspections even in water-filled boreholes. Our IP68 heads have total sealing to withstand extreme hydrostatic pressures:

  • TWISTCAM-MINI: Recommended max pressure: 10 bars (150psi)
  • CAMTREUIL-HD: Operates up to 20 bars (approx. 300psi)
  • CAMFOR-HD: Withstands a 500m water column at 50 bars (750psi)

Portable Systems for Narrow Conduits

Our slim camera heads feature small diameters to inspect narrow areas starting from 60mm (DN60) up to wide shafts of 2000mm (DN2000).

Winches equipped with reinforced wheels assist transport on rough geotechnical sites. The winch can be moved by a single operator.

Technique and Performance: CMOS Sensor, Odometer, and HD Digital Recording

odometer

Precise Location (Metric Counter)

Our integrated high-precision odometers with centimeter resolution overlay the depth directly on the screen. Instantly locate cracks or a blocked pump. "Reset" function to calibrate at the wellhead level.

HD Image Quality and Adjustable Focus

HD CMOS Sensors: 720p resolution optimized for dark areas with an ideal contrast/noise ratio.

Adjustable Focus: Manually adjust sharpness to see every detail from as close as 2cm from the camera. Analyze weld quality in depth.

Sectors: Geotechnics, Geothermal, and Industry

Using a borehole camera is more than just a visual inspection; it is a decision-making tool for subsurface experts.

Geotechnics and Soil Studies

Video inspection validates cavity stability and compliance of reconnaissance boreholes.

  • Geological Layer Analysis: Direct wall observation to confirm core samples.
  • Piles and Foundations Control: Verifying structural integrity of civil engineering works.

Geothermal and Heat Wells

Maintenance of geothermal probes requires perfect sealing and thermal resistance.

  • Heat Exchanger Inspection: Detection of sludge or scale that hinders thermal transfer.
  • Casing Monitoring: Ensuring no heat transfer fluid leakage pollutes surrounding aquifers.

Industry and Water Networks

For network managers and industrial players, the camera ensures operational continuity.

  • Preventive Pump Maintenance: Check pump condition before retrieval to avoid equipment failure.
  • Well Regeneration: Assess the effectiveness of chemical or mechanical treatments.

Borehole Camera Regulations

Compliance with Best Practices and BRGM Requirements: Our video inspection systems meet the requirements of the NF X10-999 standard and water drilling quality charters.

  • Validation of Key Stages: Verify equipment compliance (screen positioning, gravel pack height) as required by BRGM technical guides.
  • Initial Condition Report: Provide HD visual evidence essential for obtaining compliance certificates during the handover of water intake structures.
