SWC1550 is a series of Military HD cameras with an integrated SWIR Sensor. Short Wave Infrared has longer wavelengths then visible to the human eye, hence can travel through mist, fog and smoke with larger particles.
Visibility in poor atmospheric conditions and vision through glass are just a few of the benefits offered by this camera. Typical applications for this new technology can be found in fire departments, police surveillance, border protection, security and defence.
The SWIR camera has been ruggedized for harsh environments such as unmanned vehicles. The infrared surveillance camera is MIL-STD-810G Compliant for mechanical shock, vibration, humidity, altitude, temperature and transportability.
The mil-spec camera has a1296 x 1032 pixel format with a 5 micron pitch, advanced dynamic range enhancements, expanded configuration memory, and an operating temperature range -30 to 60 degrees Celsius. The camera can image through atmospheric obscurants such as fog, haze, and smoke.
